An excellent opening invites the reader in, creates tone, and sets the expectations for what is to come. We will study what goes into an enticing first page, and look at examples of great openings. Participants bring an opening page to the group and we will discuss what’s working and how to improve the reader experience.
Open to all levels
Limited to 10 participants
Note: Students can submit genre and any applicable sub-genre, if known, ahead of time so instructor can prepare potential comparison openings.
