Mission Statement
OlyPages’ mission is to strengthen our community and its individual members through the art of writing via education, opportunity and the space for human connection.
We believe that creativity and the written word are vital to the spirit and health of our world. We serve Olympia, the Salish Sea and writers everywhere.
Who We Are & What We Do
OlyPages endeavors to be the intersection of craft and community. The Writing Arts Studio is for you if you’re a serious writer with years or decades of experience or a brand-new dabbler who hasn’t yet picked up a pen or put fingers to keyboard.
We believe writing is for everyone. We provide writing education through two paths: donation-based OpenPages events and fee-based StudioPages classes and workshops. Via in-person sessions in downtown Olympia, we serve writers of all levels in the development of their craft and writing community.
OlyPages is committed to creating ongoing connection, offering deep study and practice of writing, and stellar education. Our goal is to offer excellent instruction so writers can sharpen their craft skills, develop irresistible works, and make friends along the way.
At OlyPages, we believe that stories can and do save the world every day. We believe that writing connects our hearts and minds and encourages us to be better humans. In the words of Zadie Smith, “The very reason I write is so that I might not sleepwalk through my entire life.”
Every time we return to the page, we have the opportunity to connect to our shared humanity. Whether we write every day or have been away for years, writing always welcomes us back and OlyPages welcomes you.
