Maria M. Ruth is the author of more than a dozen books on natural history topics Her recent narrative non-fiction titles include The Bird with Flaming Red Feet (2026),Rare Bird: Pursuing the Mystery of the Marbled Murrelet (2005/2014) and award-winning A Sideways Look at Clouds (2017).
